One of the writers at the American Liver Foundation heard about Gavin's story and wrote an article about him. It's on the front page of their website:

Bethany,

I have been meaning to get on here and actually comment instead of just reading all your posts, which I usually am looking at during work and reading yours posts breaks my heart. But I am so glad to see this post and to see that your little angel is going to have his story out there to help others and hopefully prevent the long delay in diagnosis.
I keep you in my prayers because reading your posts gives me a great insight into your thoughts. And although I am not a mom and can honestly not understand all of your feelings personally it does not stop me from hurting for you and thinking of you and your family often. I haven't seen you in a long time but ever since I discovered your blogs I have tried to at least keep up with things going on. I hope you know how loved you are and how much Gavin's story touched my heart.
Recently I had a guy I grew up with pass suddenly leaving behind his wife and 4 children and she had an article posted on her blog that may or may not help you but as I read it I thought of you and your struggles and I thought I would at least pass it on to you and I hope it brings you some comfort. “Sunday Will Come,”

I know that there is no way for me to understand what you are going through and no way for me to know the right things to say because as you have said in your posts things that seem so innocent to me and others out there hit you like a ton of bricks and so I hope that if nothing else you take my prayers and thoughts and love for you.
Much Love,

I am one of the second year UCLA medical students who had the privilege to visit Gavin in September. I wanted to express how sorry I am to hear about your loss.
I am so grateful that you and your husband let us students see Gavin, examine him and hear Gavin's story. It is so important as medical students that we hear the story from the family's perspective. I know that I will never forget this experience. As a potential pediatrician I will remember about alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency. We actually just learned about it today in class and I know many of my clasmates were thinking about Gavin at the time. Thank you, Gavin's story is making a difference. My prayers are with you and your family.

Wow. I just found your blog. I am so sorry for the pain your sweet family is feeling. We just lost our twins, and even though we have not been through what you have endured, we do know about loss. Our prayers are with you.
