Thank you, thank you, thank you
to everyone who donated to the toy drive this year!
We appreciate it SO MUCH!

It took 2 wagons and a huge 3 shelf rolling cart to bring in all the toys this time!

We hope the toys will help some little kids feel better!

We used the $200 cash donated to buy 8 baby rattles, 8 ring stackers, 4 block sets, 2 shape sorters, 2 baby dolls, 6 mini magna doodles, 3 Dora microphones, 6 Disney princess Barbies, 14 Disney Princess play sets, 6 Batman action figures, and 36 matchbox cars!
Plus the toys that were donated it all added up to 120 toys!!!!

Toy Drive 2011

We received $200 in monetary donations, and approx 25 toys donated to our Gifts From Gavin Toy Drive this year! I just finished our order from the Charity Mattel catalog and we were able to get so many toys...8 baby rattles, 8 ring stacks, 4 block sets, 2 shape sorters, 2 baby dolls, 6 mini magna doodles, 3 Dora microphones, 6 Disney princess Barbies, 14 Disney Princess play sets, 6 Batman action figures, and 36 matchbox cars! That's 95 toys!!!! So we collected 120 toys total!!! AMAZING!!! I tried to divide the resources evenly between baby toys, and girl and boy toys. I'm SO excited for the toys to get here so we can take them to the hospital! Its going to be awesome.

Thank you, thank you, thank you SO much for your donations! This is so very special to our family to be able to help the kids at the hospital, and to honor Gavin's life at the same time. I will post pictures of the toys in the next week or so!

Happy 4th Birthday, Gavin!

Gavin would be turning 4 years old today!
Our family met at the cemetery to write messages on balloons and release them up to heaven.

I made him a birthday card and laminated it so it wouldn't get wet.
They just happened to be watering the lawn that day, but we managed to set up his balloons.

We met back home and had sub sandwiches for lunch.
Some friends stopped by to give us flowers to remember our little guy. :)

It was a really great day...we loved having our family there with us!

I chose Curious George for the theme of his party this year, because one of the last toys I bought him was a Curious George jack-in-the-box at the hospital gift shop. He only got to play with it for a couple of weeks, but he liked it.

We had Curious George hats, stickers, blow horns and banana flavored candy for the party favors!

I made chocolate banana cupcakes with chocolate frosting and decorated them with little candy bananas. The best part was the little George figure!

Singing 'Happy Birthday' to my precious son...I miss you, baby!

{ Gavin is buried 'double deep' above his Grandpa Brinton (my dad), we still need to pick out a headstone for him, but for now, we just share with Grandpa }

Bittersweet

Olivia just recognized Gavin's picture for the first time...she was pointing at everyone else's & saying their names (usually she just skips him or says "a baby") but this time she said "Look, its Gabin!" when she got to his picture. Totally crying my eyes out...but it makes me happy that she knows who he is now.

Body Donors

I just read the most interesting article in the newspaper this morning! I'm seriously swayed to donate my body to "science" now!

Donate Life AZ Candlelight Vigil

Gavin wasn't a recipient or a donor...so we don't really fit in anywhere. But I'm going to light a candle tonight for him anyway.
